Additional wifi pods?

I use a VM wifi pod to extend signal to a home office, but also need to extend it to an upstairs room which has no usable signal. Does anyone know if VM typically provide more than one wifi pod, and if not then what would be comparable hardware that could be purchased to do the same job?

I'd be curious to know what underlying hardware is being used for these pods, as they seem to work well over surprisingly long distances.

VM will supply up to 3 pods per account.  If the first is working fine and they are free on your account then try the second and third ones first

IIRC - They are rebadged "Plume" units (just do a search for them).

Most on here dont rate them much - preferring to use our own routers along with wireless access points and/or a Mesh wifi system.   Look at the Asus range of routers and the TP-Link Deco range of Mesh systems.  If you want to go that route then post back and you will get lots of good advice and opinion.

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & TNT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi), Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

Thank you so much for your post and welcome to the community forums, it's great to have you here. 

I am so sorry that you are still facing connection issues, and as jbrennand has stated we do offer up to three Pods if needed. Have you been able to run these steps via the Connect App:

·         Tap Start the scan
·         Then Start the scan again
·         While connect to WiFi, Tap I’m ready
·         Wait 2 mintues for Scan
·         Scan complete, Tap continue
·         Tap Add a room, Tap the room you're in
·         Start the Scan (do this in every room)
·         Scan complete
·         Tap Optimise WiFi now if an option
·         If so, Tap Optimise
·         Optimisation complete, Tap Rescan room, 
·         Tap Start Scan
·         Tap Order a WiFi Booster if an option
