My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

Plus, of course, would Virgin Media, supposedly a communication company, be sending out emails from a @gmail.com address?

No, of course it’s not legit!

Hi Jason788

Welcome to the Community Forums.

We can confirm that this is not a legitimate email from us, nor a genuine email address of ours. As you have opened the PDF attached in the email, we would strongly recommend running a malware scanner on all of your devices. You can also forward the email to phishing@virginmedia.com, please then delete the email afterward.

We also have some information available here on what to do with phishing/scam emails.
