Hi, received an email titled “fix the issue now please “ apparently from VirginmediaSupport. That then says -
We have detected an unusual login attempt to your account from a new device or location. If you did not initiate this login, your account may be at risk.
Please secure your account immediately. We recommend using reliable antivirus software to protect your device from potential threats.
Is this genuine ?

I would you it’s a scam, by the text saying about anti-virus software. VM broadband accounts do not use a logon. It could possibly be referring to an email account.

Hi Caz53
@he email address you posted ending in @edumooc.com isn't a VM email domain address, so it's not a genuine communication from Virgin Media..

Thanks for the update on the email address. The surface email address may say VirginmediaSupport, just that alone suggests it is not legitimate if you have copied its exact appearance of how it is written, and the actual address under it is NOT Virgin Media but that of an educational board.
Please remove and report this email address, you can find more details regarding scam emails and such here 👉 Security.
Hope this helps.
