How can I check if a door to door sales person is legitimate?
He left a card with his name and mobile number but you can never be too careful sadly.

Typically the card left should have their ID number. You can give our team a call on 0800 183 1234 to discuss deals.

I just had this happen to me knocked 2 times I was sat eating my dinner with the children so ignored it an got a card with a name an mobile number sorry we missed you, got the hub 3 lol picture on the front..now I have the best package on offer gig1 this surely is a scam, virgin media would know I have the best..makes you feel not safe at home mainly cause of the children.

I phoned up Virgin Media and gave over the name and mobile number on the card I was given. Virgin said he was an employee, which made me feel a bit better. So I made contact with the sales rep again to try and take up this supposed deal offering broadband 1Tb speed, tv, telephone, tnt sport, sky sport....all for £52/mth. Interestingly he has not come back to me.
When I spoke to Virgin Media directly they said they could offer it for £94/mth for the same deal and appeared shocked that all of that would be offered so cheap.

Great to hear you have been able to confirm that this was one of our Sales Technicians. With this they do have discounts which are different than others, with this they usually leave some sort of card or information which confirms what was offered. If you do not have this it would either be to await them responding to you, or to speak to our Sales team again regarding this.
