The longest pre-made run you can get is 3 metres. Changing the infrastructure in your home affects your signal levels, & hence the performance of your services. Therefore any change of more than 3 metres is a tech visit job. The technician will make up the desired length of VM specialist triple screened cable, & then check & adjust as necessary at the street cabinet.

The cost to do this is a standard £25.

You cannot obtain Virgin’s specialist cable. It is specifically made for them to the correct standard for cable services. Do not use coax designed for anything else, & don’t trust sellers on eBay & the like as the cable they sell is not approved for use on the network. If you make alterations yourself & interference to the network results you could be liable for causing disruption to your neighbours connections.

It costs £25 to get a technician out to make up the required cable & adjust the levels. As you cannot get the correct cable & have no signal test equipment or access to the street cabinet I would not advise you to make any alterations yourself. Ring the Virgin faults line & ask for a non-fault call-out, or the Forum Team here can book a technician, if you don’t mind waiting a few days for a response.
