Hi, I just moved into a house and there is no “socket” of VM. Just a wire out showing in the photo.
however our shelf is just in place bending the wire.
is it possible for us to ask for a wall sock with wire coming out at the bottom of socket box, like the second photo? So the shelf will not bang on the wire.
Thanks.

Is that VM socket actually working, as it looks like a TV aerial socket? Also the type of VM socket you are wanting is not flush to the wall, but sits out, so the shelf will still not fit flush to the wall.
It would be £25 for a technician to call and cable the Hub to a new position. If you wait here a day or two a VM Mod will pick this up and discuss directly with you.
As an aside, have you thought about raising the feet of the shelf ?

VM also commonly fit Euro outlets now, as the isolators in the boxes have got considerably smaller over time.

Have you actually started a contract yet with Virginmedia? If not, you simply book a manned install and they will arrange the connections where you want them.

Thanks. That’s using for VM internet now. The shelf broad is fixed at the height but I can consider removing that shelf broad. Thanks.

Would it be better than what I have now?
Thanks.

Yes. I signed 18 months contract and have been using already before moving in. Thanks.
