Hello, I have a Virgin Stream box, and I didn't have any problems with it until I decided to move it to the other side of my house and connect it via a Wi-Fi repeater. I have a GL-SFT1200 Wi-Fi repeater, and I can see the SSID of the repeater on all my devices, except for the Stream box. Out of curiosity, since I couldn't find my Wi-Fi repeater, I clicked on a random open Wi-Fi network. As a result, my Stream box now says "I am not at home" and doesn't allow me to change the network. That's the first part of the problem. The second part is why I couldn't see the repeater in the first place?

I'm not familiar with the VM stream box, but it will certainly be locked to using only a VM Hub.
Until you can get some expert advice, I'd suggest you do a factory reset to the stream box (if one is available) and try connecting it directly to the Hub.

I’ve sorted it out. For some strange reason, though I’m not sure on which end the issue lies, if I rename the extender to anything other than its original name, it becomes invisible to the stream box— and to the stream box only. I have no idea how or why this happens. So, I’ve kept the original extender name, and it works fine.

Well done. It's not that the extender is invisible, it's what the stream box is allowed to connect to.
