Virgin Media Junction Removal?

IMG_0414.jpeg

Hi. I just got a new flat and I’m planning to get Virgin Media Broadband for Wi-Fi only but there is an old Virgin Junction left in the living room. Is it safe to remove? Can Virgin Media do so or can anyone do it safely?

Won't see your image until moderated but, if you take out VM for broadband only, you still need a VM wall socket to connect the VM hub to.

Image now showing, you connect your VM hub to the large box on the RHS. The VM phone socket is redundant. If you take a landline service with VM, the landline now connects from the back of the VM hub.

The splitter connection in between the two boxes looks as if it is sending a second cable somewhere else in your flat as well as the large box shown in the photo so you may have another connection point.

Is it safe to take out the phone line then? Or try to get a Virgin media electrician to fix this mess? 😂

If you are getting VM then ask for a manned install.  The tech should remove any redundant cable and splitters etc as part of the installation.

probably wise to get manned. A good tech will also check on meters that power levels / SNR is all OK and whether an attenuator or equalizer is required to be fitted to back of the hub as well as replace splitter if still required and checl/replace the isolator in the white Virgin wall box.
