Reschedule contract start date

We're set to start our broadband contract with an engineer visit and installation in 3 days. I have now been informed that I have a 30-day notice period before I can leave my existing broadband provider. I can't get hold of virgin media to postpone the contract start and installation date. calling customer service went nowhere - lines were too busy. the chat function didn't work either. no email address. website useless. Can anyone help?!

To be honest I'd leave it as VM are well known to cause delays at every step.

Better to have two connections than none!

There's no problem having both connected at once, VM shouldn't need to disturb the existing connection.

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

Thanks for reaching out to us @claire0f, and a very warm welcome to our Community Forums!

Sorry to hear that speaking with our team has been troublesome.

Can you please confirm if the advice offered from our fellow Forum users is sufficient or do you still required assistance with potentially rescheduling the work?

We would advise that an overlapping of services might be a safe thing to do, just in case there are any delays with our installation, which might result in the start date being pushed back.

Thanks,

Please do not cancel you existing broadband until VM is up and running.
You do not want to be left with no broadband (trust me!)
