Hi, we need to remove some old telewest / virgin boxes and cables. We are current customers but have cancelled as Virgin have been unable to get us connected in this property, so agreed to cancellation. Boxes look like the below, and cabling is causing issues with renovations.
please can an engineer be sent out to remove all of the old cables and boxes?

Just take it all out yourself and recycle any equipment. There is no safety issue in doing this. Only possible issue is leaving un-terminated cables might cause some noise issues on the network.
But that is not your problem.

Virginmedia will not remove them unless they are a health and safety hazard, e.g. tripping over loose cables. You'll have to remove them yourself.

They aren’t secure and we have young children, so I think this would fall under health and safety. Other posts on this forum have virgin sending engineers out to remove, so we hope that is the case here. Thank you for your response nevertheless

Hi @charlotte11112 👋.
Thanks for reaching out to us, apologies for the issues that you are having with our equipment, we can secure the Omnibox to the property if it has become loose, but as this could potentially hinder a customer having services at the property in the future we would not be able to remove this. If you would like us to send an engineer out to fix the external box to the property please let us know.

Hi Sabrina
It’s been confirmed by Virgin Media that you can’t actually provide any service to our address. We spent over a week with engineers working on it, and they couldn’t provide service, so I don’t think that’s an issue for any future customers.
we still would like these old boxes removed, can you please advise? They are old telewest boxes and now defunct.
thanks

Hi charlotte11112,
Thanks for coming back to us.
Despite whether we are able to service the address or not, we'd still be unable to carry out any work or remove any equipment at a non-active property. We can only apologise for any inconvenience caused.
