My house is the only one on a lane that leads to a small industrial estate. Where my house road meets the main road there are houses on either side that both along with all the other houses on the road have full gig fibre, however my house doesn't and was never asked to have it when it was installed. I've lived in this house since before fibre was becoming a thing so its not like we missed it. Whenever i enter my postcode into the postcode checker on virgin medias broadband checker it errors with Whoops. We didn't quite get that. Have another go or try again later. This is the same if i enter the industrial estate postcode. But if i use either of my neighbors who are only a few meters away it works.
Unless your a customer there seems to be no way to contact virgin unless your buying something. I've been on the phone with them before a couple times about this and they said they would get back to me within 10 days, yet they never did. Virgin media is the only BB provider with fibre currently in my area and if i can get a line installed to my house i would get there internet package. So how do i go about getting a line installed when i can't enter my postcode on the checker and calling them doesnt seem to work.

Who owns the lane, is it Council owned? You'd have to get written permission from the owner for VM's contractors to dig it up. Even with that it's unlikely that VM would want to pay the cost of running a cable down the lane for just one customer. They won't do it unless they can make a profit from your rental.

Single houses like that are uneconomic to include in build plans, especially if the Virgin network in the area has been around since the 1990s (which most of it has). The checker will not include business addresses, as these are served by Virgin Business, which is a separate company.

The duct runs under the pavement of the main road, thus enabling the houses on that street to get VM's services. However, that duct doesn't serve your side road and most likely will never be extended to do so. Your best hope is that Openreach will get fibre to you.

Hi connerN1
Thanks for your post.
I can see that my colleague Steve had a look into this for you back in February to see if your property can be serviced, however I can see we advised that we are unable to unfortunately. We can only apologise about this.
Kind regards,
