Thought I would share my recent experience with you and ask if anyone has recently received a BLACK Wi-Fi pod because I have got to the point where I am struggling to believe what Virgin Media says.
As far as I can see there are two options; BLACK – like a small router with mains lead. WHITE: oversized plug, goes straight into socket, can’t be used with extension leads. Most of our sockets are behind furniture so a pod with a lead is the best option for us. Package we are on allows for up to three pods free of charge.
Arrived yesterday. Yep you guessed it its WHITE!
On the VM website they refer to the BLACK pods as “Our NEW mesh Wi-Fi Pods” and the WHITE pods as “Our mesh Wi-Fi Pods”.
The website also mentions a Wi-Fi booster which is no longer available to customers so I am unsure as to whether this was what the person was talking about?

Thanks for reaching out to us @Martin43, and a very warm welcome to our Community Forums!
Sorry to hear of the difficulty obtaining the Wi-Fi pod you need.
As far as I'm aware we can still order the black Wi-Fi pods for a customer.
Check out the envelope in the top right hand corner, and I'll see if this is possible for you.
Thanks,

If only VM would price the pods at £120 for a set of three.
This would stop folks grasping for what has to be one of the most limiting home Wi-Fi options available.

A rose by any other colour still smells like poo - sort of thing. The Pods may do their job, if they work at all - but that wretched Connect App removes any control you might wish to have over your WiFi settings.
If it matters to have WiFi spread through your property (perfectly reasonable), then a third party mesh system attached to your hub will give you a much better experience.

Better still, modem mode with your own router and APs.
