I am leaving Virgin (painful) - I know I will have to return the kit amongst which is a Virgin WiFi / Ethernet Booster (plugs into the 13amp socket with ethernet cables to rooter and PC). I like to have my desktop PC connected this way - what will they charge me to keep it / what can I buy that will replace it like for like function?
TIA

VM Pods are a locked down to the VM Hub, they are totally useless with another ISP
so return them all to avoid being billed.
If you want to have a more flexible retail Wi-Fi Repeater that works with any ISP consider devices like :

Thanks client62 but I think you are wrong. By the bye this kit is 5+ years old, I presume Virgin will bin it when returned - does anyone know what they will charge me to keep it? I can see them for sale on eBay for <£20

I Believe you are correct if you are referring to the older wifi boosters (NOT Pods). VM dont want those returning they advise you to recycle them. However they may have modified that advice in the light of this...... The caveat to reusing them yourself is that they have a tendency to burst into flames 😳
Just search these fora - there are multiple threads where that has happened.
Keep safe and just buy new ones - the TP-Link range is regularly recommended

EDIT:
I have been advised by a VM Mod that they DO require these to be returned now - or there may be an excess charge issued to your account.
Which my best advice would be... not to ignore as it could end up with a black mark on on your credit rating and a knock on the door from a bailiff.
So just return them (they arent worth keeping as I said above)

Indeed my mistake, I expect VM want the ol PLAs back before any more go up it smoke.
Would this be more suitable as a modern replacement ...
