Upgrade to hub5

I’ve noticed twice now that the hub 4 I have has got quite hot and started blinking blue. Resetting solves the issue but I’m wondering if an upgrade to hub5 would solve this. I’m on the Gig1 package.

Call it in as a fault and a Tech visit will be arranged who, if faulty,  may swap the Hub for you - it could be a Hub5 or a Hub5 - dependent on what they have in their van.

By all means report it as a fault. But the technician will replace it with whatever happens to be in their van at the time. At the end of the day the kit is rented & VM only has to provide you with a router capable of the broadband speed you pay for.

VM 350BB 2xV6 & Landline. Freeview/Freesat HD, ASDA/Tesco PAYG Mobile. Cable customer since 1993

And if the technician finds there is no fault you may be charged £25.

I know this isn't a place, but my first post has been marked as spam, can a moderator or anyone look into that please? I feel like I'm being ignored by Virgin on all mediums.

Hi @colinwebb

Welcome back to the community forums

Sorry to hear of your concerns with your Hub 4.

When the Hub 4 flashes blue this means that it's trying to gain a WPS connection as it's been requested to do so from the button on the back of the hub.

Is the router in a open, well ventilated area  and out of direct sunlight? Are you experiencing any service issues at all when the light flashes or just in general?

Here to help 🙂
