Hi
I recently upgraded to 1gb from M500 and I got confirmation today that my speed upgrade has been applied.
I did a Sam Knows speed test and I am only getting 235mb even when wired to the Hub 5.
I notice that on the speed test it is detecting that my package is still on Virgin media 500x50, even though I am getting 1143mbs to the router.
My question is has the speed upgrade been applied fully or do I need to wait some time for this to take effect even though I am getting 1143mb to the router?
Thanks
Jay

Not sure how to check the provisioned speed, can you let me know how and I can do that as well

I used my HP Pro book connected to the Hub 5 via cable to test.
I am not sure if the cable is a gigabit cable
The cable should be a Cat 5e or preferably Cat 6. You may also find some of the HP Software interferes with the speed of your NIC. Hence the request to use "Safe Mode with Networking Support". This will bypass this problem for testing purposes.

The laptop I am using is a works laptop so not sure I can do safe mode.
I do have a macbook air that I can use, will that be ok to test with?

Definitely check the cable. Is the cable going from the hub 5 straight to your laptop?
Out of interest, have you tried downloading the speedtest.net client? This will run a speed test and is less likely to be affected by other bottlenecks (e.g. RAM or CPU limitations).
I had a fairly old PC that maxed out at 300 on a browser test but would achieve ~950 on the simple test tool. Might be worth a try.

will check the cable and yes directly from laptop to Hub 5.
will download speedtest.net.client and try that.
I did called up VM tech support and they advised after checks on their side short term connectivity issue was found and they will monitor my line for 24hrs and provide updates.
I am not sure what this means and how it is resolved, they did say if they cannot resolve an engineer would need to visit

Let us know how you get on. The "connectivity issue" could be a red herring here.
I mention this from personal experience, when upgrading to gigabit, I realised the knock on affect of needing to upgrade certain hardware to actually run at that speed (one being my PC, which would fall over after the CPU maxed out)!
It could, alternatively, be a combination of factors but as samknows is showing it going full tilt, I would be looking at your hardware first off
Good luck 🙂

Thanks for your help
Its quite odd that all my devices are not getting over 250mb that's PS5, Xbox, iPhone, none of my devices are getting high speeds.
When I was on the M500 I was getting 400-550mb on most of my devices
