Price increase with house move

Hoping someone may be able to advise. I am in the process of moving home, and due to have installation completed on the new house at the end of the month.

I received a new contract via e-mail on the 23rd July detailing a new contract price of £88.68 until August 2025, but have now received a new contract through the post detailing a new monthly charge of £188.00.

I spoke via WhatsApp to initially the billing team, who then transferred me to the Movers team. The movers team advised it is now the new contract price, and I could either accept the new contract, wait for installation and then discuss a promotion, or cancel the move altogether. As I explained, I could then wait and ultimately sign up as a new user for a reduced price at the new address, but they couldn't seem to offer anything.

Is this a common issue, as I'm happy to stay with Virgin, but not sure if this is just a system issue etc?

Thanks!

Are you still within a fixed contract term? If so there should be no change in the monthly price when you move, although it's very common for VM to mislead the customer and push the price up.

If you are out of contract, just give your 30 days notice now and sign up as a new customer from the new address.
