Had an intermittent broadband outages for a while. Eventually got a engineer visit which concluded with the engineer saying the problem was a dodgy node in the exchange. Another engineer visited on Friday afternoon didn't replace the node but " balanced " the signal. It's made no difference whatsoever, but when I followed up and complained again got told I would have to pay for another engineer to visit. It is a hardwired PC connection and I have replaced the ethernet cable.

Yes, that's Virginmedia. Anything to shut down the complaint.
You do not have to pay for a fault outside your house.
