No service for (at least) 3 days

I'm in the Glasgow area and all of my services (broadband, TV, phone) have been out since Friday morning. I've been constantly checking the service status page and the estimated fix keeps slipping. Originally it was Friday evening but now it's supposedly 11am tomorrow and even then I have zero confidence in that estimate.

What kind of fault knocks out all services for at least three days and causes the fix time to keep getting pushed back?

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.
