Modem mode problems

I’ve just Switched from TalkTalk to virgin and have a Hub 5x. Before that, I had an ASUS Aimesh network setup with a fair few static IP’s and all was working fine, now it’s not so fine☹️

My main router is a RT-AC88u with 3 nodes, to get it working with the virgin box, I’ve had to put my main router into AP mode to get everything working, this removes lots of the features that Router mode has.
When the main router is in router mode and the virgin box is in modem mode, the router is giving an IP conflict error message and I can’t for the life of my remember how to set everything up properly again. The IP of the Aimesh and static IP’s are 192.168.0.x

Can anyone help?

thanks

Are you sure you have a Hub5x, because it does not, at present, have modem mode.

The Hub 5X may be showing the Modem mode page, but it doesn’t work.  There is no timescale for a fix if at all.
There is a Reddit about it but it’s all unofficial https://www.reddit.com/r/VirginMedia/comments/1ah1boq/hub_5x_working_modem_mode/?rdt=56643

Some have claimed the Hub 5x will work in modem mode via a 1Gb/s port.
But when pressed for the steps followed there is always total silence.
