Hello! My installation appointment is booked for 05/02. I work from home and it is tremendously important to know early whether Virgin is able to provide a connection on the promised day.
Is there a way to check this, please?
Thank you

My standard answer is to get a MiFi router with a data-only SIM card. As you are in a hurry see if you can get this EE unit which is preloaded with 60GB from your local Argos.

Thank you for your help.
I am very well aware that I can ask the local authority. I have the contact details and I will do it.
I have back up plans and I hope that not all of them will fail.
It is shocking that it is so difficult to get broadband in London. No provider is reliable. I have very bitter experience with Openreach as well.

Have virgin media sent a quickstart kit box with all needed for your new installation yet ? they usually do well before the event ... which in your case is only 5 days away ... perhaps customer services will know .. VM stating the equipment is delivered 3 days before live installation of services.. ring them up .. do not stress it will be ok for you ...😃 ... you will see 😉

Thank you for your reply.
Nothing is going to be ok.
There is no Quickstart kit on its way - I have already asked.

In case you are interested, my appointment was moved from 05/02 to 21/02 because additional work must be done outdoors. But this work will never be done, as I have written confirmation from the local authority that no permission for digging has ever been requested for this property.
I called the pre-installations team and I gave details about all these. I requested an urgent rescheduling of my appointment date.
I hope someone contacts me tomorrow with proof that Virgin Media is interested in having me as customer. I requested this very clearly.

Hi sylviamyrtia,
Thanks for coming back to us on this one and we're sorry to hear that the installation has needed to be rescheduled.
The team will be working as hard and as quickly as they can to get things moving for you and they will be in contact with you once they have any updates.
Depending on the work required, it can take up to 10 weeks for the work to be planned and completed. If we're unable to complete the work or do not get given the permissions we require then we will look at alternative options before cancelling an installation and making the property non-serviceable so rest assured, we will be doing what we can.
Keep us posted on how things go and if you need anything else, you know where we are.
Thanks,

In 10 weeks I will be unemployed
This is not the information that I was given when I ordered the package
To make the long story short, I am not posting any updates, because the reason for the delay was found and I have placed an official complaint. Things are serious, I wouldn't like to continue in this forum, if you do not mind
