Hub 5 5 and 2.4 ghz band help

I have a hub 5 and I am trying to setup some new Wi-Fi plugs which require 2.4ghz. I found a post which explained how to rename the 2 ghz so I could set up the plugs and lights.  However  my app is asking me to optimise my network and wants to move it back to one name. As soon as I do this the devices that are connected to the other Wi-Fi stop working. There also appears to be no option in app to cancel the need to do this.

Any help would be appreciated, I am a complete novice at this.

Seriously totally ditch the VM Connect app

Login in to the Hub 5 management menu at http://192.168.0.1/
Disable Smart Wi-Fi aka Wireless Channel Optimization
Disable 5 GHz Wi-Fi

Now connect all your plugs and lights

Re-enable 5GHz Wi-Fi

I'd leave Smart Wi-Fi aka Wireless Channel Optimization Disabled, it is more trouble than value.
