So, for anyone still interested, or still alive. This is doing my head in so much I started from scratch.
Unplugged all ethernet cables from router. rebooted. unplugged ethernet cables from new tv and from pc.
Tried tv using wifi. = ok. Tried pc using wifi. = ok .
Now for the cables... Have got 2 brand new cat 7 cables. for the sake of this post, I`ll just call them Black and white RJ`s.
So. White RJ into top port at router, and into PC. connected at 1000. did speedtest. 269 down 26 up.
Put same white RJ into NEXT TO top port, left connected to pc, did same speedtest, with more or less same result.
Then removed the white RJ and did exactly the same as above, but with the black RJ. same results.
so, 2 cables tested, on top 2 ports, but .... only using pc. both Cables and top 2 ports all seem fine so far.
So, Left black RJ connected in next to top port at the router, removed it from pc end, plugged into new tv. Disconnected tv from wifi, and tried the " wired" option via ethernet..., On TV...got a " connected to router, but not to internet " notice. Left it connected at tv, but changed it to top port at router. same notice.
Swapped black cable for white and did same 2 tests again, with same notice on tv. " connected to router but not to internet "
So, it would appear top 2 ports ok, pc ok, cables ok, but for some reason, irrespective of which cable or whick router port I try, it`ll only allow me to get a connection as far as the router, but not as far as the internet. ( if that makes sense ). Hard to explain it any better, not knowing what I am talking about, but it`s as though the ethernet on the tv is only `partially` working.. None of it makes any sense to me, all I know is head is exploding.
If anyone has any thoughts at all, I would appreciate. Many thanks.
