Hi,
I just upgraded Hub to V5 and thought I would give the Wi-Fi Pods another try .. as I had read that they perform much better compared to the V4 which never was reliable for me...
I plugged in one of the Pods and used the Connect utility but this doesn't see the pods. I guess that the pods need resetting as they previously were configured for the V4.
So I rang VM support and asked about getting 3 pods restarted... Well I got to the first one YAAJ1350**** and doesn't appear on VM's support system 😞 So I rang off...
Any idea HOW I can get the pods reset? Is there a simple process? Ringing 150 doesn't seem to be the answer 😞 Or do I need 3 NEW pods and can send the olds one back... ?!
Thanks
Jeff

Putting the Pods matter aside (and they will charge you £8/month per Pod), I presume your cameras need 2.4GHz wireless not 5GHz. If that's the case, then there may be a bit of fiddling around to do once you have coverage at the cameras. But we can deal with that when signal is available to the cameras. (f you are using VM's wretched The Pods and the wretched CONNECT app will only give you grief; that you cannot use your gifted Pods is a message from above - "Don't use them for grief will be upon you". Dozens of grief posts in this forum.
You may have to lay out a low to modest amount of dosh to buy in your own WiFi mesh system which will serve you better. Two Pods would cost you £192/year - and depending on which mesh system you buy, you'd recover the rental cost to VM within 1 year or 2 years.
If you go down that route, there are better Forum members than I who can guide you through the detail and recommend options (I am in modem mode which isn't available to you on the 5X and thus not working directly off the Hub).

The pods are disconnected because there is no point in trying to connect the current ones... I have to return them because I paid for them. I was also thinking about changing the plan to Gig1 and then I could get them from VM. The Ring floodlight camera I'm having trouble with has a range, just a weak range but generally receives the WiFi signal. Others like Ring door bell without a problem.

Yes - if you upgrade to 1 Gig, the (wretched) Pods are free. But do please research the Forum on the grief people get with the (wretched) Pods and the even more wretched CONNECT app. The wretched CONNECT app takes the Hub over to the extent that you are unable to customise your WiFi in any way. The result is (not for the cameras/doorbells) that any 5GHz device that receives a WiFi signal below a certain threshold switches to 2.4GHz but this is not seamless and there is a disconnection of several seconds. Honestly, keep clear of the wretched Pods and the even more wretched CONNECT app.

Thank you very much for the tips, I honestly don't need Gig1 for my needs... I'll have to read up on it.

If you're thinking of getting 1 Gig for the free (wretched) Pods, then you definitely don't need 1 Gig. The main thrust of advice when you have serious needs such as security cameras and doorbell, is to avoid the grief that the Pods will bring you.
