Hi,
My broadband started dropping connections yesterday. At certain times the Hub 5 showed flashing green, solid blue and flashing/solid red lights. The main cable into the house goes into an attenuator, then an equaliser followed by a splitter for the broadband and TV. I tried a pin hole reset but the Hub had a solid red light with a very poor internet connection. The Hub log showed a message relating to power in excess of 6db.
As part of checking connections I removed the attenuator but had the same problems as above. I then fitted back the attenuator and left off the equaliser and the hub booted up OK with no errors. I checked my equipment status on the virgin page and it says I have a broadband issue. Refitting the equaliser causes the red light again.
Do I need a tech visit or can a new equaliser just be sent out?

A technician is coming out.

Just to close this out. My connection didn't require the attenuator or equaliser as power levels etc are OK.
As an aside these two devices were very old rectangular shaped ones and the technician said these can cause problems with the hub 5. If you have a hub 5, the attenators should be the new barrel shaped ones.
