Broadband 5G not compatible with wifi door camera?

JohnHemel
On our wavelength

I have a smartlife wifi camera and set it up fine some months ago with my V hub 3.0

About 3 weeks ago the picture ceased while I was away. Trying to reset it now its saying I have 5G wifi which is incompatible.  I seem to recall my wifi was 2.4 G or similar...    Has some upgrade happened ( I live in HP2)?

Is my camera now scrap?

cheers

John

Set the 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz WiFi Network Name (SSID) to be different.  Then make sure your door camera joins the 2.5Ghz.

The door camera is 2.4GHz only it can not hear the signal of 5GHz band !!!!

Split SSID does not address the root cause of the problem which is all Hub 5 appear to have isolation between the network traffic of the 2.4 & 5 GHz bands.   I.E. from the 5GHz band one can not connect to a device on the 2.4GHz band.  You can't ping / print / manage a device between the bands.

If that's the case, I'm glad I don't use the Hub5 WiFi in my house !!    My access points are all inside my PfSense firewall & Hub5 WiFi disabled !!
