3rd Party WiFi Extender

Hi all,

We had a weak signal in our kitchen, and my WiFi pod didn't do anything. I presume it was faulty as when I unplugged it, it was very hot!
That aside, I bought an extender from Amazon (because I couldn't be **bleep** with the hassle of calling Virgin), and that has connected very easily. However, once connected I'm getting a message saying there is "no internet connection".

Does anyone know if this is this because 3rd party extenders are not compatible with virgin routers??

Thanks
David

Hi there dbstoke,

Thanks for your post and welcome back to the community.

Sorry to hear your Pod is faulty, may I ask were any lights showing on it at all?

Let us know,

Kain

Exceptionally slow speeds upstairs in my property, yet I can't get wifi pods despite speaking to over 15 different advisers. Been lied to so many times this past few days. Promised that they would be sent and was told today that they haven't been ordered at all. If I can't get two additional pods, then I will be cancelling my services with you. Shameful.

VM doing pods was a bad idea did they not think many people who just want virgin stuff to improve wifi would be

Weeks I’ve had this issue. Wasted hours with the dreadful chat system and customer service. Had two engineers out and been told I need a booster. Also been told I have one on order. Multiple complaints and absolutely not a care given. My advice would ask for your money back false advertising don’t fulfill the promise given when you sign up

Save your breath and more important your time.   Wi-Fi Repeaters and Mesh are widely available online and when looking at decent brands it is hard not the end up with a far better and more controllable solution than VM's Pods.
