renewal deals

frost2029
Dialled in

Looking to see what deals are available for me to change my package.

Tried online but can't make any changes other than adding items to my package. Tried online chat but need to chat to advisor and they try whatsapp to let me know when they are free but never send whatsapp message so I'm not in the queue to chat to someone. Tried calling and was offered reduced services or increased services all at higher price than what I'm currently paying. Even a broadband only package for me is significantly more expensive then a new customer. I'm aware that new customers tend to get the best offers but is there anything for existing customers?

All I can see is as an existing customer I'm paying for broadband 4 times the speed then what I need. A landline which I don't have/need or want. A tv package where I only watch 6 channels. I want to chat to Virgin to see how to save money so who can help me save money?

Sounds to me like VM is overkill for you and that a simple FTTC connection would be fine.

FTTC?

The channels I watch I can get with nowtv for £12 per month. As a bonus there would be 0 adverts. I can't get through to virgin to chat about deals.

Hi frost2029,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums.

We're sorry to hear you're having an issue with speaking to the team to discuss your services and price. This is something we can certainly check for you but in order to do that I'll need to confirm some information with you to pass security.

I've sent you a direct message to allow us to do this with you in a private space. If you're using a PC/Laptop then you can just click on the little ✉ at the top right-hand side of the page to access your inbox. If you're on a mobile/tablet device then instead, click on the little circle icon in the top right then select 'Messages'. 😊

Thanks,

I've had a private message from someone who refuses to confirm any security details that they are actually from Virgin Media. And wants me to confirm a load of personal details that will give them access to my account. Really sounds like a scam. Who any company who refuses to verify that they are who they say they are really sound like scams. If you truly are from virgin media, you won't have in any issue proving it. Having a fancy forum signature and a profile picture does not prove you or who you say you are.

Call 0345 454 1111 if you prefer.

Hi frost2029

You shouldn't be concerned about being scammed by a member of the Forum Team.

You can easily identify a VM Staff member as per  the following linked page (screenshot below)

https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/help/faqpage/title/Staff

If you aren't comfortable with that then you should either call VM (150 from a VM landline or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone) or try whatsapp 0780 3089 684.

You can also contact VM using Social Media (but you may be reticient to use that method too as the forum staff also man the socal media channels) by either messaging  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/virginmedia  or Twitter: https://twitter.com/virginmedia
