Rather like a mobile phone contract, you can’t have a personal account for a business expense. I had to set up a business account in order to be able to claim VAT on a mobile account.
If you are claiming your personal use from your employer, then you should only need to provide proof of expense, to justify your claim. Your employer can’t claim VAT on your behalf, unless you yourself, are VAT registered, in which case you would invoice your employer and charge VAT.
I would suspect that if you need a VAT invoice you would need to change to a VM business account.
