Unable to verify email

I have tried many times over a long period of time to register for an online account. I always get the same message about having to verify my email address. However, I never received a mail and do not receive mails when I trigger a new one. I have gone through very long customer service journeys but have given up as I just got sent in circles. I saw someone else raise this here and they received assistance, so thought I'd try. Thanks.
