Virgin Media, I will be making a complaint to Ofcom for your false advertising and total misrepresentation of the refer a friend scheme. I refererred a Friend to you Virgin Media, we both did exactly what was meant to be done she  signed a contract with you VIRGIN MEDIA, 3rd September and had her bundle installed 16th September. I contacted you when not heard anything from you in October via What app, you got back to me the following day, to tell me its nothing to do with Virgin Media, its to do with your Partner Alkamio. That we have to wait 60 days before they will contact us with the £50 referral cash.  Contacted them on day 62, as had not heard anything, they told me it wasnt registered,  and now after going back and forth and them dragging their feet to hold back this payment to us both, email number 16 today says, it is down to you VIrgin Media. And wait another 3 months. So get your finger out you have 7 days to check your records, and credit it to mine and my friends accounts.

Dear Mick,

Thank you so much for your response and the details.

We have created a Support Request for you and your friend and will forward it to our partner - Virgin Media.

Virgin Media usually needs around 10-12 weeks to verify the request. Therefore, we kindly ask you for some patience. We have no influence on the time that our partner needs to verify the request and associated order.

You will be notified as soon as we receive feedback from our partner.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

We wish you a nice day!
Kind regards,

Anita

Are they and you having a laugh??????    Whats the point of having them??? as we contacted Virgin Media to refer a friend, whos contract is with Virgin Media  then the service is installed by Virgin Media, and the bills are paid to Virgin Media, Were does Aklomio come into, except to stop anyone getting paid any refer a friend payment. would it not be easier and simpler, to me refering a friend to you, service gets installed, when friend pays first bill, £50 referal money is then credited to my friend and My accounts. Whats the point in this other Company. to me this is just a scam, and I wont be refering anyone else to Virgin Media.

Hi Mick-57,

Thanks for posting and welcome to our community 🙂

Sorry to hear you're waiting on a refer a friend credit, can you confirm that the correct process was followed initially, and your friend was referred via this link

Alex_Rm

Hi Alex,

All the procedure was followed  fully, yes my friend was refered through the link I shared with her, she signed agreements and it was installed 13 days later. This outside firm Alkomio, is getting Virgin media a bad reputation by just dragging their feet, and trying their best not to give people who have referred friends in all good faith, their refferal award, and that smacks of false advertising, which is in Virgin Media's name, not Alkomio  thats who we have our contracts with, I should just refer my friend, she gets her service, she pays her first bill, then both her and myself get our Virgin Media accounts credited £50. Not this long winded joke with another company involved. I havw waited over 12 weeks now, so why does it take another 10--12 weeks to get Virgin Media to say yes they have a contract with us. Alkomio with probably come up with yet another excuse not to pay out then.

Mick

I understand its frustrating, what have they told you its taking so long for?

Have you tried to contact them on virgin-media@aklamio.com? If so what have they advised you? Cheers

Hi Matt,

In answer to you question yes I have contacted them NUMEROUS TIMES. I refer you to my first posting of this, to which I copy and pasted my 16th EMAIL between myself and Aklamio. And this was the last one I had.  For you attention here it is re copied and pasted so the buck has been passed back to Virgin Media to keep us waiting for our £50 referral. I have been with Virgin Media over 20 years hence my blueyonder email address. And I will never refer a friend again,  this has made me seriously start thinking about my account with Virgin Media too. I am so fed up and disillusioned with this charade. And false advertising.

Mick

Hi Mick-57 👋

Thanks for confirming that. I completely understand the frustration that this process is causing. We've used our Partner, Aklamio, for several years to run the overall Refer-a-Friend scheme.

We send daily updates to Aklamio, confirming any eligible orders. Please be aware, that we do not have access to Aklamio's system, so cannot update these directly. Any payouts, or issues relating to payouts are directly with Aklamio.

The timeframe for a reward payout begins once the cooling-off period for Virgin Media services has expired. You can read more on our Refer-a-Friend scheme, here.

Unfortunately, our Customer Service Teams, and Forum Team are unable to credit your account for this scheme as the payout is decided and processed directly with Aklamio.

If you have any disputes regarding the timeframes or scheme itself, please contact Aklamio directly, on either of the below options:

📞 Call: 020 4586 6000
✉ Email: virgin-media@aklamio.com

Thanks,

Hi Reece,

Thanks for your comments and especially  the comment

We send daily updates to Aklamio, confirming any eligible orders. Please be aware, that we do not have access to Aklamio's system, so cannot update these directly. Any payouts, or issues relating to payouts are directly with Aklamio.   Alkamio comment was that you took 10-12 weeks not daily. So if you verify it Daily, they should have contacted my friend and I on 22nd November, as they stated that they contacted Virgin Media on the 21st November., but now December 1st ( 3 months after my friend signed her contract ) and we have still not had our referal award.

Hi Mick-57,

Thank you for reaching back out, we appreciate you frustration and apologise for any inconvenience caused,  please contact Aklamio directly as advised.

Regards

Paul.

Knows their stuff

This is a total nonsense - it is not for the OP to become involved in chasing up Aklamio (who are NOT in partnership with Virgin as a previous response claims). It is totally the responsibility of Virgin to sort out this mess themselves  without expecting the customer to jump through hoops at their bidding.

Why are you saying this Paul, when you have already read the message from Aklamio sending him back to Virginmedia?

It was Virginmedia's offer, not Aklamio's.

The OP ordered from Virginmedia, not Aklamio.

It's Virginmedia's job to fulfill this contract, not Aklamio.

So sort it!

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.
