I had virgin media for a few months in 2020. Extremely poor service in every way. After weeks of trying to cancel and got no where, I cancelled the direct debit as went straight back to sky with my tail between my legs.
4yrs later mortgage applications declined because this humble company (virgin) defaulted the account.
So now I find myself trying everyday to try and pay this default and still after all these years I cannot speak to anyone.
How the he'll do I pay this account off if I don't have an account and yous make it soo hard to speak to anybody. A communications company for God's sake.
I'll place a notice of correction on there and explain you won't take payment and fail to communicate.
Remember, I don't have an account or any details of an account and I don't wish to sign up for anything.
I just want to pay the defaulted balance and then forget the company exsists.
Thanks.

Thanks for reaching out to us @StickWithSky, and welcome to our Community Forums!
Sorry to hear of the former account you held with us being in arrears and needing to make a payment.
If you were to know the address of the account held in 2020, we would be able to look this up on our systems for you - please simply provide our team with the door number and postcode.
Alternatively, if you've been advised of any debt collectors that have been issued with the debt, clearing the balance with them directly may be a suitable alternative.
Thanks

I will not deal with third party contractors. But no, no debt collectors I know of.
Just need to pay the balance.

You have sent me to the pay my bill page where I will need to enter an account number, my god!
There is no account number.
You can assist in giving more options and ways to contact a real, live person.

I would contact Equifax or Experian, whoever you monitor your credit file with and ask for the default to be removed if you are getting no help from virgins customer service which is renownd at being terrible you will go crazy trying to get the issue resolved. If you have tried multiple times to get information and cannot, contact experian and explain that you have contacted virginmedia trying to find out if you actually owe the debt which you don't think you do, that they havent provided any help or proof of the debt owed and have failed to provide you the information that you need to do anything, and have it removed from the credit file.
Had similar due to a company selling off debt that was actually not mine to terrible companys like lawell who like to chace after people after the date is years old with no proof.
If they cant find the information for you to pay the account how are they going to prove it to credit companys without getting said proof that you should then be able to request
virginmedia are good at adding instantly late payments etc but never actually updating saying you paid on time honestly an extremely poor company who likes messing with peoples credit files. i have seen so many complaints in regards to this and have the same complaint.

Thanks for the reply @StickWithSky
We apologise for the poor experience so far.
You will need to speak with the team directly and they can find your account via the post code and door number.
They will prompt you with security questions, most likely the memorable word.
If you don't know it, they can send out a copy of the memorable word via post (it has to be done this way for security), or clear account security via secondary questions.
Kind regards,
Ilyas.

As Highway has advised, Early Disconnection Fee's are standard across all providers. More details on these can be found here.
