Hi there,
I spoke to someone on the phone who called me from a Virgin number, won’t say his name here, but I have a voicemail saying to call him back and then answered when he tried again. He said that I had cancelled a previous account as the account number changed when I moved and I didn’t cancel the one I had at the time… which makes so little sense to me as I’d have been paying 2 bills. I even paid in August £58 which I believe may have actually been a fee for cancelling as it was way above what I normally paid; but my last payment came out in Sept 2022 and I had called before to close the account. The man on the phone said he could see no record if that, but on the other side I received nothing from Virgin even suggesting I had an outstanding balance on any medium of communications whatsoever. He offered to take off £16 but I was and am adamant that I do not owe this, and even if I somehow did - why wasn’t I notified by Virgin before virgin sold it to a debt collection agency? I know I’m not the first this has happened to now
regardless the person I spoke to agreed to credit the account because of ‘all the hassle and trouble’ it’s caused me, and while I am very grateful, I’ve not received this in writing and am now growing concerned again.
I have no letter, never had a letter either and the first I’ve heard of this is IMFS contacting a few weeks back, I haven’t been with Virgin Media since Sept 2022. I know I cancelled my account because I sent my router etc back.
I'd like to take a closer look into this so will pop you a PM 📩 now and we can go from there.
Thanks
