Most plainless method to terminate contract ?

Hi All, my contract ends in 25th Nov and I've already made a note in my calendar for 26th Oct to get in contact to give my 30days notice.

I had an m250 + 'bigger bundle' deal which started as £39.50 and now is around £43 p/m. I hardly use the TV package , but more annoyingly the best I ever see on BB speed is ~85mb/s which is a shade quicker than my old FTTC BT copper wire connection.

So I'm presently getting peppered with renewal invite emails which I haven't bothered to click on as I thoroughly expect VM will want me to part with ~£90 quid p/m. I would rather hand back the box and the array of gubbins and just find a trustworthy none TV/none phone deal based on a copper wire connection ( BT FTTP is due at my address soon ).

So rather than getting balled off with useless Philipeno call centres, is there a simple online method to trigger a cancellation 30days before?

Thanks

If you simply wish to cancel, with no further negotiation or discussion with VM …

You can cancel your services by post as per info below

https://www.virginmedia.com/help/cancel-virgin-media

You can send your leaving request by post to:

Virgin Media, Sunderland, SR43 4AA

Use a first-class, signed-for delivery service. This will give you a date/time of delivery when you gave VM your 30 days’ notice to cancel. Also keep a record of the tracking number.

If your disconnection happens during a minimum term period VM may charge you early disconnection fees.

Thanks, I've seen the option to cancel via online chat, so basically on 26th Oct ( 30 days to contract end date 25/11/24 ) I will do that. Whats not clear as yet is what bits I have to hand back and whether there is a physical place I can drop them off.. or do I have to mess about packing electrical gadgets? I would rather hope to find I could put the parts in a bag-for-life and hand them over to somebody...

Just to confirm that the address @goslow gave does work.  I applied there and received a large bag with a prepaid label which was large enough for a Hub, TV box and their accessories.  It's worth taking photos of their serial numbers in case of any subsequent queries about what you sent.

You can either arrange for a collection, or drop it off at a Yodel pickup point and get a receipt.  A week later I got an email to confirm they had received the items.

I have to say that after many years with VM, this was the most efficient contact I ever had with them. 🙂
