My contract expired in October which means that my monthly payment has increased significantly. After reading the terms and conditions I understand that I have the option to either renew or cancel the contract with Virgin Media. I tried to do the renewal on the mobile app, but was surprised to see that the new contract will be much more expensive than the current one when continuing with the same services. This led me to finding a more affordable option elsewhere and wanting to cancel the contract with Virgin media. I tried to use the online chat, phoning the support office number several times but with no luck. The last two telephone calls kept me waiting for 15 to 17 minutes with no-one attending to the calls. It seems that contract cancellation is almost impossible with the current support system. Could someone please assist me with my contract cancellation?

Hi @adrivzyl, thank you for your post.
We're sorry to hear you intend to leave us and about the problems you're having doing so 😔
Have you tried all three methods of cancelling in the link provided by @Client62?
Although we appreciate cancelling by post is unlikely to be your preferred option, we'd certainly suggest doing so if you're continuing to have problems by phone and online chat.
Please pop back to us at your earliest convenience.
Regards,
Daniel

Just for reference, VM's contracts never expire. You have a rolling contract with a minimum term, which is likely to correlate to time-limted discounts. Each of your monthly bills, and your contract, will show the standard price of your package together with the expiry date and amount of your discounts.
Once you are outside of your minimum term - you are free to continue at standard price, renegotiate another time-limited discount, or give 30days cancellation notice.
Others have advised how you can give disconnection notice.
