Hi hoping someone can help me here. I have been having intermittent broadband for over 4 months, been calling Virgin media constantly and also on webchat had 3 technicians to my property and still not resolved. Made 3 separate complaints and 2 of them complaints is saying resolved when in fact I haven't even been contacted regarding this.
Complaint 1.. I received an electrical shock from a virgin media white plug in booster which I'm told are very old ones and I should not be using them no one told me this I have 2 very small children and this could very easily been one of them.
Complaint 2.. Broadband has been basically unusable for over 4 months intermittently cutting off at least 10x a day has 3 technicians out 1st tech guy said that my wire outside is corroded he would need to order one and would take 2 weeks. Skip 2 weeks 2nd tech guy comes out and says that someone in the back office has cancelled order of the wire and he doesn't know why so will reorder, 3 days later 3rd tech guy comes out why I'm not quite sure but virgin sent him out asked him about wire and he has no idea what I'm talking, about goes outside checks wire and says yip wire is all coroded so will order a new wire. Here we go again no fault at all lies with These tech guys they have been absolutely amazing and all the fault lies with lack of communication between people.
Complaint 3. Told to renew my contract quoted a price I think is very reasonable considering then... Wait for it I'm told nope you need to pay 3x the price you were originally quoted so I have all photographic evidence of this. Told I would receive 30 compensation as a apology and also auto compensation recieved the £30 but not about the auto compensation. I am getting passed from pillar to post and my next step is the ombudsman if this does not get resolved and quick it's been over 4 months now enough is enough and I want to know how my complaints are resolved when no one has contacted me regarding this hope someone from virgin media can actually help me this time!!! PLEASE!!!

Thanks so much for your reply. I was hoping to get this resolved with virgin media without the need for all this, but it is looking like this will be my only route. So is this actually a well known issue with these boosters? I've had these for around 5 years and just recently found out about this..

Fiona can you please make a formal report to Trading Standards about the very serious incident regarding the electric shock and the old VM booster? VM has known these devices are very dangerous but has done nothing. Thank you. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/get-more-help/report-to-trading-standards/
