Hi, after 24 years of being a VM customer I have finally cancelled and am leaving. I've been given a cancellation date of 18 July, it was quite a stressful experience ringing although it did not take long. I have just realised the 18th of July is 37 days from today, I thought the notice period was 30 days not 37, can someone please advise , thanks

To anyone else reading this,I have just been informed by the forum team via private chat that there is no knowledge of any cancellation on my account.Yesterday on the phone I said repeatedly I was not interested in any deals and only wanted to cancel , this went on for some time, eventually the message got through I was transferred to someone else who then tried to persuade me to accept new deals, I was put on hold several times before the process started again . Eventually I was given a cancellation date 37 days after phoning. It is only through questioning why it was 37 days instead of 30 that the revelation there has been no cancellation has come to light. This is deliberate ,and criminal and extremely distressing

@Number-6 many thanks for your advice. I will do as you say. Regarding the forum team Akua_A has been very helpful. He/she has raised a complaint ( i have reference number ) and initiated the 30 day cancellation process. I now have a date of 12 July. Although I don't think any recordings were requested. but put it down to a misunderstanding.What I found alarming was the two people I spoke to on the phone were their refusal to accept my wishes. The first went on and on about offering me a deal, which I point blank refused to discuss, when she finally gave up she blurted out a price , to which I said no,no,no ,please cancel my account. I was then told she didn't have the authority and transferred me. The second woman kept ignoring me for no reason, I could hear lots of other voices in the background which went quiet several times while i was put on hold for no reason. The fact that I was given a date and told about returning equipment made me think i had finally got my wish They obviously are just laughing at customers wishing to leave
