switch my BT landline to Virgin media

Hi - I just got Virgin Media set up at home. The TV and broadband are working fine but the BT landline has stopped working. It used to be connected via the BT broadband. How do I get it switched over to use Virgin media?

Normally it is only possible to port an active telephone number to a new provider.
