Tried to ring an 0800 number to my bank on my landline (via the router) and received a message "sorry, this number is temporarily unavailable". Ringing the same number on my mobile and was connected straight away. Tried a local STD number to a family member today and received the same message. Once again could connect on a mobile. There is no indication of any faults on the Virgin media website.

Thanks NigelJB,
Can you confirm if your phoneline is connected via a wall socket or the hub?
If the hub, could you please try a reboot and report back if there is any change.

Hello NigelJB
Sorry to hear of the landline issues experienced, we appreciate you taking the time to raise this via the forums.
Can you try redialling the number, ensuring no additional numbers are added please?

Sorry for the delay. I did not see your reply until late last night. Tried the bank helpline number again 0800 328 1328 this morning and received the same message. I know that it is not a problem with Santander as during my mobile call to them, they checked the number and it was fine.

Thanks Alex. The reboot of the hub has fixed it.

The nightmare of voip phones. Give me a copper line for a landline any day. Fibre optic for the broadband though :).
