Keeping landline number

Hi,

I have received an email from VM saying that my landline number is going to change even though I requested to keep my old one. I think my old number is a VM media number already, so I can't see why it needs to change. My new kit arrives tomorrow and I would really like to get this straightened out before then as having to change my number is a deal breaker for me. I have tried using the customer chat bot but after more than an hour I have to assume it's not working.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there @Hitch66

Thank you so much for your post and welcome to the community forums, it's great to have you here.

I am so sorry for the confusion regarding your landline, I would like to take a closer look into this with you via a private message and see if there is anything we can do to help.

I will pop you a PM across now, please keep an eye out for the envelope at the top of your screen alerting you to a new message.

Surely not another customer cancelling, quickly renewing for new customer discounts and expecting to keep their landline number?

In case anyone is in the same position, yes VM were able to port my old phone number but it did take about two weeks to be reactivated. Until then, we were on a temporary number. Luckily we don't get many calls on our landline so this was manageable for us. And if you are unable to get through to a person via chat or on the phone, posting on here did get me a rapid response from a human. Good luck
