keeping an email after cancellation

i live with my partner. i cancelled my virgin contract. my partner signed a new virgin contract with a better cost. i need to keep my virgin email address for work and health reasons. she tried to add my email address to her account but the system wont allow it as 'it already exists'... how do i keep my virginmedia email address or add it to her account (as a secondary account holder?) can virgin tech guys just allow me to keep it or add it to her main account holder for me so i dont lose all my email contacts...about 50 seperate entities...cheers

@Mykota  It is not possible to move an individual email address from one Virgin Media broadband account to another.  Your current virginmedia email address is likely to be deleted 90 days after you closed your broadband account.  You will need to create a new email address with another email provider and let all your contacts know the new address.

hi im a new account holder. how do i get a virginmedia email address? im having to use a gmail one still.

Also how can i add my partners old virginmedia email which hes still using to my account? ive logged into my account but it wont let me add his email to my account?

i have a new account and wants to add mykota to my account. then  he can keep accessing his emails. what is the problem with that? why cant virgin allow that? technically they can do it. what is the reason for not doing it?

@tinateapot  The short answer is you cannot.  Virgin Media stopped issuing email addresses to new and existing customers in May 2022.

You cannot move an individual email address from one VM broadband account to another so your partners old virginmedia email address will be closed down 90 days after he ceased to be a broadband customer.

That is something that Virgin Media would have to explain.

As per section D, subsection 6  of VM's /Terms_and_Conditions_TV_Fibre_Phone 

6. Any email address allocated by us to you will at all times belong to us and you may not transfer the address to any person. If this agreement ends, yourright to use that email address will also end and you will no longer be able to use the email address, so please make sure you have an alternative email address and let your contacts know of the  change, as we cannot do this for you. Please see our acceptable use policy for more detail on email address usage and our Help and Support page (by clicking here) on what happens to your email when you leave us.

What else do I need to do if I’m leaving?
You might also need to check:

• If you have Netflix as part of your package, you’ll be able to continue using it until the end of your subscription period on your final bill. Once we’ve stopped billing you, Netflix will let you know how you can pay them directly.

• If you have Virgin Media Internet Security (powered by F-Secure), your subscription is unaffected and will continue separately. You can contact F-Secure directly if you want to cancel, or they’ll be in touch when it’s time to renew.

Any emails you want to keep from your Virgin Media email address, as this will close 90 days after your disconnection date. Just make sure you forward anything important to a new email address.

I’m afraid VM no longer give email addresses to new users. You need to get one elsewhere.
