who has ntlworld email address, does that mean he is stuck with virginmedia (or has to tell everyone the new address and keep praying)
Will virginmedia run an autoforward after one has left?

Virgin Media email addresses including Ntlworld are indeed tied to Virgin Media broadband accounts.  If the account is closed the email address will be closed 90 days afterwards.  Forwarding will not work after the email account is deleted.

There are a number of free email providers out there including Gmail and outlook mail.

I would start the migration process today. It takes a lot longer than you might think.

As has been mentioned, sadly once an account has been disconnected an email address linked with us may be deleted at any point after 90 days of disconnection.

Yeah. The best advise is to never use ISP email accounts for any serious business. As has been confirmed these mailboxes are simply a worthless temporary novelty item just to make people happy that they are recieving some sort of exclusive email address which they can show off to their friends.

It's a shame that these terms are not made more prominent when signing up for said email address. If I was in charge of VM I would just put in huge writing, I have no idea why they don't make it more obvious?? It is weird.

"This email address is not permanent, it must be considered temporary as VM has no obligation to provide services to you indefinitely."
