These totally bogus spam / scam emails are very common & best just deleted and forgotten.

Absolutely, various versions of them have been doing the rounds for years., anyone with an email address is likely to get one.
Here's an almost identical example received a few months ago by an Outlook.com email user. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/i-got-this-email-from-hacker

@Jpeg 1 I will explain that to a virgin staff member, I did say this is not just regarding that email, there's quite a bit more to it including internal changes on my Virgin account
