Stop email forwarding from closed account

My ntlworld account was closed 18 months ago, but I am still getting junk forwarded to my current address.  How to stop it, when there is no ntlworld account to log into?

Bottom line, you don’t stop it!

Email forwarders are a function of the mailbox itself, not your account, so it’s obvious that VM may well have deleted your account, and hence, you can’t log in any more, but haven’t deleted the underlaying mailbox, so it is still accepting email and obeying the instructions to forward it.

Within a day or so a member of the forum team who are VM employees, will get to this thread, and offer to contact you via personal messaging to get details and help. Now although they themselves cannot delete the mailbox, (they won’t have the appropriate permissions to do so), hopefully they can use a ‘backend’ channel to escalate the request.

Did you respond to Travis_M's Private Message (PM) as mentioned in the post dated 17/10/2023? If you are viewing on a full size screen you should see an indicator beside the envelope icon at the top of the forum page.. If you are viewing on a mobile device you will need to click on the icon.

Travis is a member of VM staff who can arrange for the account to me deleted. That's the only way to stop the forwarding.

As @TableTop mentioned earlier, the reason your old email account is still forwarding emails is that VM have not completed the deletion of the account correctly.

Once a VM staff member, such as Travis, requests the mailbox to be fully deleted that normally only takes a few days.

So if you have not yet replied to Travis's PM  you would be well advised to do so. Alternatively wait for another member of the Team to pick up on your latest post.
