Problem changing email password

I have suddenly had a message to enter password for my email but my current password has failed. I am trying to reset but are stuck at the point of having to enter an alternative email to receive the reset info. I have entered an alternative non-Virgin email but get the message:

"You've recently requested to change the email address you use to sign in to My Virgin Media. Please check your emails and verify this change before making further account changes."

I have received nothing to my alternative email account (or my normal Virgin accounts!) so can't get any further. 

Advice welcome please. Thanks.

Good to read you resolved this gremlin by using an alternative email address; FWIW the workaround is to immediately resubmit the original email address after entering the alternative.

I seem to have resolved this. Though my original alternative email was not accepted, I generate another with a different address but still with gmail and this time it worked! There's no sense to it, but it does seem to be OK now.

didn't receive a "change email notification" just ended up in an eternal loop trying to change my virgin.net password which is never accepted. Help please

Sorry to hear you're having some issues with your emails, can you confirm if you've tried the below👉

• Sign in to My Virgin Media

• Go to Account settings, then Account details

• Tap Manage next to Manage your Virgin Media Mail app password under Virgin Media Mail

• Then, under Virgin Media Mail app password tap Get password

• Continue the flow and a new secure password will be generated, and the mailbox unlocked

• Update any third-party apps that may be use to access your Virgin Media Mail emails with this new app password.
