Hi Steven_L
I have a similar issue. I have not been with NTL / Virgin for quite some time (several years). I keep getting emails (mainly spam) to the ntlworld.com email address. I contacted Virgin media today by telephone and was told there is nothing that can be done. Surely someone somewhere must be able to help deactivate / delete the account.

One of the Forum Team (VM staff who support thsi forum) can arrange to have the old Ntlworld account deleted. One of the team will contact you via this forum thread in the next day or so,
However, be aware that sometimes when VM "delete" (note the inverted commas) an email account they simply remove access to the email account on the VM website but leave the mailbox itself still live.
That means, if your old Ntlworld account is forwarding these spam emails to your new accounts then you would continue to receive them even after VM have "deleted"it. In other words they have not fully deleted the email account.
So make sure that VM fully delete your Ntlworld account including the mailbox. When VM advise they have deleted the account you can check that by sending a test message to your old Ntlworld address. If you get an undelivered error message back it will prove the account has been fully deleted. If you don't then you need to come back here again.
I hope that makes sense
