I've just had the dreaded email about my account being deleted. I'm currently abroad and am not sure how I go about saving all my email. I have set up a gmail account - can anyone let me know how I can transfer all my inbox and sent emails to my gmail? Thank you so much for any help as I have had this virgin account since my child now in her 20s was a baby!

Before providing any suggestions on email backup/migration, are you currently a VM broadband customer?
Those who are may have an option (subject to some significant conditions) to associate the mailbox under threat with their current VM broadband account.

I have been assured yesterday that the emails will not disappear just we can’t access them thru VM anymore. I use a separate email app so I apparently should be able to continue to use them. I was told they had sent me an email saying this but I told the gentleman the only email I had said they were deleting my virgin.net address. Or more specifically as you have had(?) saying I no longer have VM services so my virgin.net address will be deleted. In the last few days everyone I’ve spoken to had strong foreign accents and they were all clearly just reading from a script. I’ve had a few who apologised that this was upsetting me but not remotely apologising for this cavalier disrespect for paying customers.

Are you an actual VM advisor? I wd like clarification here. Yes I have been a customer for thirty years. Do VM mean they are actually turning off the imap servers for these accounts? If so then what I was told yesterday was incorrect, I will not be able to continue to use those addresses that I use to sign in to every other website anywhere! Wd that then mean I wd not be able to access anything from eBay, Amazon, etc bc I use an ntlworld address for those and always have done.

The email closure mail received would be because either the email address/addresses we're discussing are not listed on any active account, or if they are, at one point they was not.
