With windows now changing email over to outlook I need to generate a new app password to set it up. I have done this before but I can't see anyway of finding out what the password was.
When I try to generate a new app password through virgin media I am told that I need to change my log in email address first. When I attempt to change this I am directed back to the original message telling me to change log in address, and round and round it goes. As such I cannot change log in address or generate new app code.
Does anyone have any suggestions ?
Thanks

Hi JB83,
Thanks for posting and welcome to our community 🙂
Sorry to hear you've had some issues changing your My Virgin Media details, can you confirm that the below has been tried 👉
• Head to the My Virgin Media website: virginmedia.com
• Click My Account (top right corner)
• Select Sign in to My Virgin Media
• Enter and submit login information
• Once signed in, select the Account Settings option.
• Once on the Account Settings page, select the Virgin Media Mail Settings option.
• Once on the Virgin Media Mail Settings page, scroll down to the App Password section and click the Generate New App Password button.
• A pop-up message will appear asking the customer to verify their email address.
• Customers MUST use a third party email address to continue. They cannot use any @VirginMedia.com, @blueyonder.co.uk or @ntlworld.com address.
• A one-time passcode (OTP) will be sent to the confirmed third party email address.
• Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is now required when a customer performs certain actions, such as changing their email password.
• The customer must now enter the OTP they've received to verify that it's them.
• The customer can then reset the password of the Virgin Media email account

Thanks but yes I have tried that. Once you click on the link in the pop up it directs you to the page where you can change your email address, but then quickly goes back to the previous page with the pop up. As such it isn't possible to change email address or generate app password. I have tried in chrome and Edge but get the same result with both.

Hi I’ve had the same issue, and have now created and in app password for outlook, accessing a blueyonder.co.uk email account, however do you still use the same blueyonder email address as the user name or do you use the new email addresss you had to put in for security purpose. The hole issue is a nightmare with no clear guidance or instructions on any of the VM pages. I look forward to your reply. Thank you in advance

In Outlook you use your full Blueyonder email address along with the app password.
