Can someone please help? I am utterly distraught after receiving an email saying that my virgin email account is being closed in a few days. This account has been used for many, many years and I don't know how to keep my emails and don't see how I can contact everyone I need to in a few days. The sender of the email was from a 'No-reply' email.

Sorry but why on earth shd we have to do all this? The problem is VM have decided it's acceptable to suddenly prevent access to our accounts by changing the email address required without any warning or permission. When I did change it to a gmail address, it led me to an account with only my name on it, with no bills or history and I believe this is why you sent me an email saying I was no longer receiving VM services. You have done some very odd things lately with no warning.

One method of backing up your emails is set out here: https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Forum-Archive/Backing-up-your-Emails-One-of-many-solutions/m-p/...
Do you have a current VM broadband account? If so and it is in the same name as your virgin.net email account then it may be possible to have it moved to your current account. The VM Forum Team staff will respond here in due course to assist you.

Hi Graham,
Thank you for your reply.
The link you posted about backing up emails is from 2017. I am not being rude, but will those suggestions still work? I am not very computer savvy at all and am very stressed by this situation.

Sorry, that was a duplicate.

@Needhelp2024 Yes I know that it is an old link but the Mail Store software is still available.
Did you read the second part - do you have a current VM broadband account?

Thanks for reaching out to us @Needhelp2024, and a very warm welcome to our Community Forums!
I'm sorry to hear that the recent business decision taken by Virgin Media is not to your preference.
As per the questioning, do you have an active Virgin Media account at all?
If so, we may be able to help.
Thanks

You are not alone, I got same email. I called 150, pressed no buttons so was eventually put through to a human voice and she simply associated the virgin email address with the correct account (where it always has been and where I did not move it from!). VM shd be ashamed to call themselves a media company and need to have a good look at themselves and how they treating ppl like this is acceptable.

Thank you. I am absolutely beyond distressed with this - I have every facet of my life in these emails, including photos of my father who has passed away. I have no idea how to save my emails, and I have thousands as the email account is very old. Can someone from Virgin PLEASE HELP. I need to keep my emails. I will pay to keep them.

You haven't answered the key question of whether you are currently a VM broadband customer or not. Presumably not.
If the answer to that question is a negative, VM seems quite determined this time around to close down all legacy mailboxes not attached to an active VM broadband account.
I posted some suggestions on another topic about how you could possibly go about backing up and migrating your mailbox if required
It may help you if you need to backup and migrate the mailbox
