Access entire email history

Hi, is there any way to access my entire email history?  I need some material that was sent to me years ago, but I no longer have access.  Any advice, much appreciated! Thanks, Lou

    In what sense do you 'no longer have access'?

    Do you mean you can't see those emails any more or you cannot access the email account any more?

    Are you currently a VM broadband customer? Only VM broadband customers can use VM email. Email accounts are supposed to be deleted 90 days after a VM broadband account closes.

    Sorry to hear you're having some email issues, are you able to confirm if you still have an active broadband account as goslow has suggested?

      Thanks, Alex - I've just responded to goslow. Yes, active broadband account, but can't access emails that pre-date 2012.

      Any advice, much appreciated!

        To be honest, if they are not showing up in your VM webmail account that strongly suggests to me that they are gone for good.

        Taking a look at mown Ntlworld email account, the oldest emails I can find are from 2015. That's about the time VM had to move away from using the "Gmail-like" service that Google provided for internet service providers.

        You could try looking under the "My folders" section of you folder list. You may have a set of folders listed under [Gmail] . There may be some copies of emails converted over from that earlier Gmail version of VM email,

        Going further back in VM history,  up until 2009 VM used their own in house email system  before the move to the Google based service.

        That means that if you are looking for emails from prior to 2009 they will have gone through 2 major migrations. Firstly to "Gmail" and then to the current Ziggo system. Plus of course there was the more recent melt down of  the VM email service when VM had to work hard for several days to restore everyone's email.

    Hi goslow,

    Thanks for coming back to me. I still have the same email account I've always had but I can't access my entire email history. I'm currently a VM broadband customer. I can go back in emails to about 2012, but the emails I'm after pre-date this.

    Any suggestions?

      I'm assuming you don't keep your own email archives ?  If you can only see back to 2012, then I'm guessing they are gone.  If you value any of the emails you can see at  the moment, I strongly suggest you archive them all off to your local storage, and move your email to another email provider, one that is not an ISP.
