Why did someone knock at my door and ask to remove my equipment
Some guy said he was from Virgin and was here to remove my equipment. No such order. Possibly a thief?

VM can/does sometimes send collectors out to recover equipment from customers who are leaving VM.
There would not be much a thief could do with stolen VM equipment as each equipment item has to be matched and activated against a customer's account. Most likely this was an admin/address mix up. Did the person give you any particular cause to think they were not there for a legitimate (mistaken) reason?
Did you check the name, account, equipment details from the person who called or verify their identity? Were they in VM uniform or driving a VM-marked van or had a VM ID badge number?
